Sequest unveils Bar Code Scanners within v5.5

TIER Workflow System for Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health utilizes bar code scanning and printing in order to deliver major value to patients across the US and it showed NAATP Leadership Conference attendees some many applications.  TIER, the most customizable software in health-care allowed Sequest to develop a tracking database for NAATP conference attendees.

Attendance tracking for CEUs at conferences is always a major issue for conference planners.  We decided to demonstrate how versatile and configurable the software is-we designed bar codes for each NAATP member and placed on their name tags.  The conference started this morning and Sequest staff were positioned at auditorium doors as 450 conference attendees filed passed and were scanned.  The process was new to all so was certainly a learning experience, but overall members were excited to see this cutting edge technology at their conference.  As members were scanned-the TIER software registered the member for the particular session being attended.  The software was a minor customization for Sequest and hopefully demonstrated one of our major devices released with the TIER Workflow System for Substance abuse and Behavioral Health.

Sequest current partners look to bar coding for many simple as well as valuable parts of their business.  We initially developed the feature to allow partners to scan patients for positive identification during the medication administration process as well as to scan unit dose medications.  This process has been reported by many to deliver major value to organizations via reduction of medication errors.  Patients are scanned to ensure accurate person, medication is scanned to ensure proper medication.  In addition to this Sequest partners also utilize bar codes for group attendance, wellness checks and equipment inventory.

Sequest donated the service to show our powerful tools as well as to demonstrate one of the many uses technology has in day to day business processes.  Software is a major part of all our days, it is quickly becoming a necessity-no longer a nice to have.
