developed a Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) process that feeds our electronic Medication Administration Record (MAR). Physician orders are routed directly to the pharmacy to reduce errors and MAR can be automatically populated with drug orders. These two tools have been enhanced with the ability to utilize bar codes for inmate identification and drug administration. Our Workflow System for Correctional Healthcare also allows for documentation and reporting on missed medications, medication errors, and adverse drug reactions to enhance safety and reduce risk.
