Spread over a 100-mile radius and split between three campuses, Trillium Family Services Inc. has served the Pacific Northwest for nearly a century. Since their merger in 1998, The Parry Center, Waverly Children’s Home and Children’s Farm Home have worked as one facility-Trillium Family Services, Inc.- to serve the Portland, Oregon, and Pacific Northwest areas. Their combined facilities can treat as many as 1,000 patients, up to 120 of those as residential patients. Services offered range from Inpatient Residential to Outpatient, Day Treatment, Foster Care, Horticultural Therapy, Pet Therapy and School based programs for both youth and adult patients.
The Parry Center had originally purchased another software package to store their data. But after working with it for a while they found it didn’t serve their particular needs.
Their search led them to TIER®. Once the 3 centers merged, they acquired the TIER® product to replace the former application and meet the needs of the new entity-Trillium Family Services, Inc. Then, service-by-service, they constructed their forms, trained the clinical staff, and brought TIER® online. After Beta-testing them for a month, the forms were finalized and presented for use. Out of over 500 staff members, more than 400 of them are now using TIER® to collect clinical data.
Trillium was able to standardize three separate entities without having to sacrifice 80 plus years of individual culture by using the flexible TIER® software. They also found greater efficiency through documentation than through a paper system or their previous software choice. The admission process has reaped the biggest savings of time and the treatment process has benefited from the more detailed reporting capability.
Overall, end-users at Trillium have found that they are getting a better quality of work for the same amount of time. Limited only to their imagination, their reporting ability has improved with increasingly sophisticated and detailed results.
After several months of having the entire Trillium facility on line, end-users are reporting that they really like the new system. The treatment process has become clear, direct, and streamlined. The care delivery process is more detailed and concrete with the use of validation and other TIER® functionality, leading to better outcomes.
