Success Stories

Washington County Psychotherapy Associates values TIER®’ s ability to evolve to meet organization’s needs.

“Our organization had been searching for an electronic record system for some time. We sought a software product that could manage the expectations and demands of the electronic record system we had envisioned. Previously, we had built two other electronic record databases with good success, one from scratch and one from a product base. Both were adequate to our needs at the time, and had many custom features we wished to continue. But, we were not only searching for a product
that could match what we had already established, our intent was to find a product that was flexible and powerful enough to offer an integrated leap forward as we prepared for future organizational needs. In our opinion, TIER® was the product we had sought.

TIER® provided a base product that we could modify ourselves, and the potential to integrate a number of essential functions within our organization. For instance, we often review the literature related to the services we provide and want to weight certain variables or highlight others. The flexibility of TIER®’s programming and our ability to build on what already existed within our databases allowed us to update our forms in a fashion that kept pace with changes not only in clinical literature and standards of practice; but also those programmatic record demands at the federal, state and departmental levels.

TIER® has also proven to be an innovative evolutionary product as well; where the TIER® of two years ago is not the TIER® of today. With added modules and features, our organization has saved valuable energy and time as we expanded into billing, environmental controls and human resources in an integrative fashion. TIER®’s development team has been quite responsive, as our leadership tends to envision what a product “could” do. Today, and playfully speaking, many of these so-called “could dos,” have turned into TIER® “would dos.” We have a good working relationship with the administrative and development team at TIER®, and are active in our users group here in Maine to everyone’s mutual satisfaction.

It also seems important to note, that while our organization serves rural coastal and central Maine 24/7/365 the demands we place on our electronic records system may well be more intensive than other organizations in suburban or urban areas. Spread out across roughly the middle third of Maine, the demands on an electronic records system for accessibility and reliability are very, very high. In many cases, access to reliable clinical and organization data in life threatening situations is critical to the care of not only our crisis services consumers, but our employees as well. Accordingly, we have placed high demands on TIER®, and are quite satisfied with the result. TIER® has proven to be an accessible, innovative and reliable product line which has served the needs of our organization well.”
